Information for Contribution Requests

There are causes committed to humanitarian goals, but lacking sufficient economic resources to fulfill them. It is our intent to offer assistance in closing this gap between need and resource. We look to create a path through which those we help can help others as well.

General Criteria

bulletWe will consider applications for support in all areas of need, including, but not limited to education, health and human services, arts and culture, social welfare, and community development.
bulletSpecial regard will be given to Jewish-related projects or organizations, but all worthy causes will be given due consideration.
bulletWe prefer to fund specific projects or proposals as opposed to making contributions to general operations.
bulletWe will not fund political parties or individual political candidates.
bulletMost grant awards will be under $1,000, but larger requests may be considered.
bulletSome type of matching is preferred, but absence thereof will not necessarily disqualify an application.

Application Procedures

Grant applications should be made by a letter of request, normally not more than three pages. The letter should include:

bulletA brief description of the entity.
bulletA description of the particular project or operation for which funds are being sought.
bulletThe reason for this project, including its goals, its need, and the population benefited.
bulletThe total cost of this project or operation.
bulletThe amount of support being sought from the Wolinsky Family Foundation.
bulletThe source of any additional or matching funds which may be needed to complete the project.
bulletAny time constraints for the requested support.
bulletProject evaluation plans and methods of reporting such evaluation.

In addition, the following attachments should be enclosed:

bulletAn itemized budget for the project or proposal.
bulletOrganizations should submit a copy of its 501(c)(3) Internal Revenue Service tax exemption letter, a list of the organization’s officers and directors, and a summary of its latest financial statement.

Deadlines

The foundation receives submissions year round, and reviews them at their semi-annual meeting, or at special meetings as needed.
